The Intragastric Balloon system (BIB) is a saline filled silicon balloon whith a valve that can be seen on X-rays. The Inflated ballon floats in the stomach meaning patients feel full and satisfied, just like the feeling after a meal.
This restricts the appetite and thus aids with weight loss.
The BIB system should run parallel with a regimented diet programme. Your Surgeon will monitor you carefully after surgery and oversee your eating programme.
